Is this a one-time payment or subscription?

One-time. Pay once and own 1AIVault forever. Your license includes 12 months of updates — after that the app keeps working with the last shipped version. Optional renewal at ~30% off re-enables updates for another 12 months. Never required.

What does "device" mean?

Each license can be activated on that many computers simultaneously. The Pro · 3 devices plan lets you run 1AIVault on your laptop, desktop, and work machine at the same time. You can deactivate a device and move the seat to another machine any time.

What's in the Free tier?

The full vault — every MCP integration, the browser extension, topic classification, skills, and JSON export. Capped at 1,000 entries and 50 topics. Reading and deleting are always free, even past the cap.

Is there a trial of Pro?

Yes. Every install includes a 14-day Pro Preview that starts on first launch. No credit card. When it ends, the app drops back to the Free tier with everything you imported still intact.

Where is my data stored?

Everything lives in a local SQLite database at ~/.1aivault/vault.db with WAL mode. Topic classification runs locally via Ollama. Nothing leaves your machine unless you explicitly enable the optional encrypted sync.

How do updates work?

The app checks GitHub Releases on launch and prompts you to update. You can also re-download any version manually from the release page on this site.
